According to Serkana Toto, the Japanese company Colopl, specializing in mobile games, is rated higher than GREE. The reason for this is the successful launch of the company on the stock exchange last December.
The market capitalization of Colopl, whose attention until recently was focused mainly on the Japanese market, reached $2.4 billion. This means that it is ahead of GREE by $1.8 billion and is not so far from its other rival – DeNA, a developer of games for social networks, which accounts for $ 3 billion.
Colopl was one of the first in Japan to promote games for smartphones. Previously, the company also produced titles for simple mobile phones.
Colopl’s portfolio includes more than 50 smartphone games, the quality of which can be classified as average or even below average. In fact, the company is engaged in stamping budget games. However, the company also has hits (Pro Baseball Pride, RPG Treasure Detective and Wizard & Wiz the Black Cat), which I play the role of a “locomotive”, shifting to the “average” users.
Coplopl is now eyeing the global market. Recently, she released Wizard & Wiz the Black Cat and Dino Dominion in English, the latter has collected more than 40 million downloads on iOS and Android in Japan alone.
