comScore has published another quarterly report, according to which, the “apple” platform is rapidly increasing its presence in the American market than its main “search” competitor. All Android smartphone vendors, except HTC, are experiencing a downturn, and Microsoft, along with RIM, are losing the market.

comScore experts found that from April to July 2012, Apple’s share in the US mobile platform market increased by 2% and amounted to 33.4%. At the same time, the share of Android presence increased by only 1.4%. Thus, Google occupied more than half of the mobile OS market, namely 52.2%. 

As for other platforms, all of them experienced a decline in the second quarter. Significant for RIM, which lost 2.1% of the market in three months, and alarming for Microsoft – by 0.4%. And if everything is clear with Blackberry, then the stagnation of the company, once founded by Bill Gates, is surprising. The fact is that in the second quarter it was not yet known about the rejection of WP7 and WP8 compatibility. In addition, it was in April that Nokia’s flagship Lumia 900 entered the American market. His release was accompanied by aggressive advertising, which, as we can see, did not help bring sales to a new level. 

Going back to Google. Despite the increase in the Android user base, from April 12 to July 12, all vendors producing smartphones based on this OS, as well as ordinary cell phones, lost their market shares. Samsung and LG are relatively insignificant – by 0.3% and 0.8%, respectively, Motorola is more noticeable – by 1.3%. The trouble was avoided only by HTC, which had an increase of 0.4%. 

As for Apple, the number of its smartphones among American users increased by 1.9% in three months.
