The successful sales of the Nexus 7 have become a catalyst for the rapid growth of Asus in the tablet market. Already next year, the company for the supply of “tablets” plans to overtake all Android competitors.
According to Vedomosti with reference to MarketWatch, in 2013 the supply of “tablets” from Asus will amount to 12 million. According to our American and Russian colleagues, this happened due to “increased demand for devices with 7-inch screens.” In this case, most likely, we mean the successful launch of the Nexus 7, which Asus carried out together with Google this summer.
Nexus 7 – Asus’s “finest hour”In total, the Taiwanese company delivered 6.3 million tablets this year.
Not very much, given the data from Gartner, according to which sales of Android tablets this year will amount to 37.9 million devices (against 73 million from Apple).
Next year, Asus plans to double shipments to 12 million, taking a leading position in the Android tablet market. Given the rumors about the imminent announcement of a new Nexus for $99, it can be assumed that the company plans to expand its market share through aggressive pricing policy.
