At the Portland Incubator Experiment (PIE) conference, Trent Peterson from AppThwack, a company that tests Android applications, advised developers on several tools that will help optimize application testing.

Two tools BugSense and Crittercism, recommended by Trent, will allow you to automatically send messages from the user’s device in case of failures and errors. Another Apptentive tool establishes a connection with the owner of the mobile device in order to find out what exactly is not working in the application.

ActionBarSherlock simulates on devices with outdated OS versions the functionality that is available only to new devices. As for Testdroid, this application significantly speeds up the testing of Android applications.
