At WWDC, the Apple company announced that simultaneously with the release of iOS7, a new category of applications for children will appear on the App Store. The first details have recently become known.

So, as we have already written, Kids will no longer be a sub-group, but a full-fledged category. Accordingly, it will have its own subcategories. Which ones are not quite clear at the moment.

The fact is that developers will have to choose an age rating for their children’s apps. Only three options:

  • Up to 5 years
  • From 6 to 8 years old
  • From 9 to 11 years old

You only need to choose one. That is, these are clearly not the usual sub-groups. So it is quite possible that there will be any more divisions within the category.

Mobile programs will still be able to pass in two categories: main and secondary. But it should be understood that in order to get into the children’s category, the application will undergo an additional appruv.

Are you expecting anything from the new category?
