Analysts claim that almost a third of viruses for the mobile platform from Google are received by users through the official app store.
The Slovak company ESET, specializing in the creation of antivirus programs, has published a report according to which 30% of the viruses existing on Android are distributed through the Android Market mobile application store. In addition, of all the viruses that exist on mobile platforms, 65% are on Android.
ESET analysts believe that the “love” for the platform on the part of virus writers is due to the popularity of the system, as well as the large amount of private information stored by users of this system. The undoubted reason for the “popularity” is also the lack of support for older devices by Android developers.
