American users spend a third of their time on mobile apps more than last year. They devote almost half of their attention to games, analysts from Flurry calculated.

Since December 2011, the time that users devote to mobile applications has increased by 35%, from 94 to 127 minutes per day. “Mobile apps are eating away time from the Internet, hence such an increase in their popularity,” Flurry says.

Of mobile apps, 43% of user time (i.e. 55 minutes per day) belongs to games. It is worth noting that according to statistics from the US Bureau of Employment, on average an American user spends 72 minutes a day on games (be it a PC, console or gadget). That is, it turns out that three quarters (more than 76%) of the total playing time falls on mobile games.
