The third part of Cut the Rope topped the charts of paid App Store apps in several countries at once, including the USA and Russia, Vedomosti reports

Cut the Rope: Time Travel was released last Thursday and immediately topped the top paid apps in the American App Store for iPhone. Her tablet version was also successful – at the time of release, she took the third position in the chart, and she still holds it.

As for the fate of the game on Google Play, not everything is so rosy here. According to App Annie, the game occupies the 40th position in the American top free apps. The tablet version of the game is at 59 on the paid app chart.

Considering that ZeptoLab decided not to change the monetization model of the game (paid version + optional IAPs on the App Store), the box office success of the game is impressive: Cut the Rope: Time Travel for iOS is in the top 40 box office applications of the American market.

On Google Play, where the smartphone version is distributed for free, and the high-resolution version costs not $3, but $1, everything is sad. The project is not even included in a hundred cash applications in the United States.

Anyway, Zeptolab CEO Mikhail Lyalin, Vedomosti claims, is satisfied with sales. His team spent $1 million to develop the third part of Cut the Rope. Whether marketing costs are included in this amount, he did not specify.

Again, according to Vedomosti, which, in turn, refers to The Wall Street Journal, today leading mobile companies invest up to $ 5 million in advertising their games. Four years ago, they cost $500 thousand.
