On August 3, as part of the Geek Picnic festival, held annually in St. Petersburg, the Geek Apps conference dedicated to the development and promotion of mobile applications will open.
The program of the event is divided into two parts. In the afternoon, “technologies” will be discussed, in the evening it will be about marketing. The division is very conditional, because, for example, Alexander Zverev will open Geek Apps with the theme “distribution of mobile applications on the example of Yandex.Store”.
As for mobile games themselves, three speakers will touch on them in their reports. Yaroslav Tabakov from AstraMediaGroup will share his vision of a good interface solution in the game; Yuri Saveliev from i-Free will tell how his company developed a project on Unity; Lev Silaev from Motion Entertainment will give a lecture on “The game as a startup”.
Tickets to the conference cost from 1500 rubles.
In connection with the announcement of Geek Picnic and Geek Apps, we also asked Nikolai Tichodeev, Geek Picnic Program Director, about the event.
Nikolay TichodeevIn total, it was stated that about 15 thousand people will visit Geek Picnic, and how many of them, according to preliminary calculations, will take part in the mobile section, how many in the section dedicated to marketing?
The festival is large, several dozen different venues, so all 15,000 visitors will be interested.
The conference on mobile applications includes 2 sections, each designed for 100 people, so you can expect 150 – 200 participants.
Geek Picnic is an event for the widest audience. Why did you decide to also hold a separate section for specialists? Not really.
Geek Picnic is not for a very wide audience. Geek Picnic is a community of smart, modern, thank God there are a lot of such people in St. Petersburg. And a separate conference for specialists is a unique opportunity to communicate with colleagues on professional topics in the beautiful weather, in the best park of the city, and even at the same time relax at a thematic festival.
What should it turn into in the future? How do you plan to develop it in the future? In the future, we plan to repeat this wonderful experience and do a big serious summer conference.
The most informal conference for specialists.
There will be a play area at Geek Picnic. Will local gaming companies (including mobile ones) present their projects at it? If so, who exactly? There will be different toys on the play area, but not mobile ones.
And within the framework of the conference, it will be possible to try the oculus rift virtual reality glasses in action http://www.oculusvr.com /.
In the future, will small teams be able to negotiate with picnic organizers about a promotional area within the event, where they could demonstrate their projects to a wide audience/specialists?Within the framework of Geek Picnic, 2 start-up sessions are held, within which just small teams can demonstrate their projects.
