By the end of this year, 70% of PC sales will be on mobile devices, according to Gartner. This is largely due to the increasing interest in them from the business environment.
The analytical company Gartner has published a forecast for the development of the mobile device market. According to him, by the end of this year, about 821 million gadgets will be sold – 70% of all PC solutions. By 2013, this figure will reach the level of 1.2 billion mobile devices.
The main emphasis in the report was placed by analysts on the development of the popularity of devices in the business environment. It is assumed that by this year tablet sales by organizations will reach 13 million devices, and by 2016 – already 53 million devices. Moreover, about 56% of smartphones, which are purchased, in particular, by companies in North America and Europe, will run on Android (now it is 34%).
Separately, it should be said that by 2016 Gartner predicts the release of the Windows 8 operating system to the third place in popularity of platforms. Moreover, about 39% of the gadgets on the “eight” will be used specifically for corporate purposes.
