Finnish application developer Futuremark is releasing a single 3DMark test for Windows, Windows RT, Android and iOS.
Futuremark plans to release 3DMark in a few weeks and has already shown a trailer for it. The program is designed to compare the performance of devices based on different platforms — Windows, Windows RT, Android and iOS — by comparable scores.
Announced support for devices Microsoft Surface RT, Google Nexus 7, Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime, Samsung Galaxy S III, Apple iPad 4th generation, iPad Mini and iPhone 5.
There will be three separate types of testing: Ice Storm for mobile electronics and entry-level PCs, Cloud Gate for laptops and medium-sized Windows-based PCs, and Fire Strike for modern hardware and powerful desktop gaming systems.
