The total number of paid downloads of the mobile version of Minecraft on iOS and Android has reached 5 million. Together with the desktop and console versions, the project has gained 18 million installations.
Johan Bernhardsson, the creator of the Minecraft game, said that the mobile version of the Pocket Edition project on iOS and Android has sold 5 million paid installations. Considering the high cost of the game (229 rubles in the App Store, 184 rubles in Google Play and $6.99 in the Amazon Appstore), this is a very good indicator. The project itself, we recall, has been in the top ten of the American App Store for more than one week.
Graphics in Minecraft are far from the main thingFor reference, the Xbox version of the game scored about the same amount – 4.5 million downloads.
According to data from the official project page, about 8.3 million users bought the game on their native PC platform.
The “pocket” version of the game originally appeared on Android – in October 2011. The release for iOS followed a month later. Both games originally sold for $6.99. For those who did not want to pay such an amount, but wanted to try the game “on the tooth”, Bernhardsson released a special Lite version with trimmed functionality. The number of her downloads is unknown.
Management in the mobile version of the game is not very successful Minecraft is a designer of three–dimensional spaces, and at the same time a game about survival is far from the most hospitable of worlds.
