For two weeks now, a hard lockdown has been going on in Shanghai, associated with a new outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic. In conditions of complete isolation, gaming companies support their employees by delivering products to them for free.

This was announced on Twitter by game analyst Daniel Ahmad (Daniel Ahmad).

Lockdown has locked Shanghai residents in their homes – they can’t even go out to grocery stores. They can only order delivery, or wait for government rations. Due to supply problems, there is not enough food for the whole city.

Therefore, employers of game studios have taken support measures. If necessary, employees from Shanghai, using an online form, request humanitarian assistance from the employer. In response, the company sends them parcels with products.

These support methods are used not only by large companies such as NetEase and Bilibili, but also by small studios (Papergames and Hypergryph). They were joined by international companies, for example, the Chinese divisions of Riot Games and Ubisoft.

Players from Shanghai have also created online groups for mutual help and support.

At the moment, it is unknown how long the lockdown will last. Over the past day, 23.5 thousand new cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Shanghai.
