We continue to summarize the results of 2019 together with the heads of gaming companies and market experts. Next up is an interview with Georgy Egorov, who recently assumed his position as CEO of Pixonic.

How was 2019 for the company?

It was a very busy year for the company:

  • we focused on developing new projects;
  • fixed a number of internal processes;
  • we have further deepened our expertise in operating midcore shooter projects.

This year War Robots turned six years old, and the project is not even going to “fall”.

What events in the regional and global gaming industry do you consider central in the past year?

The most intriguing thing is the emergence of a niche of cloud gaming. Now it is in its infancy, but the technology definitely has potential, especially considering the news about the introduction of the 5G standard.

Which third-party game releases this year, in your opinion, were the most important?

As for the games, it is impossible not to mention “Kojima-genius” and Death Stranding with its infernal PR. Even my grandmother, who is not familiar with the industry at all, has heard about the game.

In the mobile market, the bomb effect was produced by the release of Call of Duty: Mobile. The project itself is very cool done; I often notice how our guys are going to play a couple of matches in the office after work. Activision has very successfully combined a successful franchise with the experience of operating shareware games for mobile devices.

The release of American Dad was remembered on the Russian market! Apocalypse Soon from MY.GAMES. It was interesting to watch the creation of a project based on the world-famous IP by a domestic studio.
