China is one step away from becoming the largest market for active iOS and Android devices in the world. The number of such gadgets in Russia is much smaller, which does not prevent our homeland from being in the top ten largest mobile device markets.

Most likely, by the end of February, China will become the world leader in the number of active smartphones and tablets, Flurry company reports in its official blog. It took China exactly a year from the moment when its market of “smart devices” was recognized as the most dynamic in the world.

From January 2012 to January 2013, the number of active devices in the US market, which until recently was considered the leader in the number of such gadgets, increased by 55 million. In China, during the same time, their number has grown by 150 million.

Already this January, according to the total indicator of active smartphones and tablets on iOS and Android, the United States and China were neck and neck. For the first there were 222 million active devices, for the second – 221 million.

And, apparently, in the future, America is unlikely to be able to overtake China among them. In the Middle Kingdom, it is banal, there are more people (1.3 billion versus 310 million). Accordingly, the market has a place to grow within the country. But China itself is no longer the most dynamic market. It is overtaken by Colombia, Vietnam, Turkey, Ukraine and Egypt.

Also, according to Flurry, Russia is among the top ten countries with the largest number of active “smart devices”: we have 19 million of them. Most of them – 12 million – were acquired in 2012. Considering that Russians are also actively spending money on applications, it is not surprising that our EA market is now being used for the “soft launch” of their projects.

Yes, there are not so many active gadgets in Japan, which is now one of the largest mobile application market by earnings, when compared with China and the USA – 29 million. That does not prevent local companies from earning up to $75 million from the project per month.
