Nordisk Games continues to invest in game developers. This time, the Danish company acquired 30.7% of the indie studio Supermassive Games. She is known for the horror Until Dawn and The Dark Picture Anthology series of games.Nordisk Games, which is part of Nordisk Film, announced the deal on March 29.
According to the company, she was attracted to Supermassive Games by the openness of the team to cooperation and the desire to make story games.
“In our opinion, few studios, apart from Supermassive Games, are able to create games with such a strong narrative, built around unique stories and IP,” said Mikkel Weider, managing director of Nordisk Games.
The British studio Supermassive Games was founded in 2008. The company employs 200 people who are currently working on a series of small interactive horror The Dark Pictures Anthology. The anthology already has two games, Man of Medan and Little Hope, and a third is scheduled for release this year — House of Ashes.
Supermassive Games became the ninth studio in which Nordisk Games invested. Among them are Raw Fury, MercurySteam, Star Stable Entertainment and Reto-Moto. Also in 2018, the company acquired Avalanche Studios, known for Mad Max and the Just Cause series.
