The Turkish market continues to invest in mobile games. The local company Ludus Venture Studio supported three development studios at once — it invested almost $2 million in them.

Which companies did Ludus Venture Studio invest in:

  • Stardust Games is an Istanbul—based mobile startup that opened in 2021. It was founded by Berkay Soyer and Gunay Ozkan, who previously worked for Ubisoft and Sony for about ten years. The studio has not yet managed to develop (or announce) games, but it is known that it has focused on casual titles. Stardust Games raised $405 thousand;
  • Paxie Games is another casual studio that was founded in Istanbul this year. Ludus Venture Studio, together with another investment firm Alfa Game Partners, invested $ 1 million in the startup;
  • Maestro Games is a studio specializing in hybrid mobile games. The company received $500 thousand of investments and a loan for an additional $500 thousand.

Ludus Venture Studio itself also started working only in 2021. At the time of its foundation, its fund had $30 million dollars. The company has made seven investments — all related to games.

In recent years, gaming companies from Turkey have attracted more and more attention. In the period from 2015 to 2020, local mobile startups received investments in the amount of $2.4 billion. In addition, according to the research platform Startups.watch, as of May 2021, 20% of the most downloaded games in American mobile stores were developed by Turkish studios.
