The head of Bohemia Interactive, Marek Spanel, denied its acquisition by Tencent. The Czech studio remains independent.
Earlier, The Information wrote about the “deal” between the companies. The publication reported that Tencent allegedly bought 70-80% of Bohemia for $260 million.
In the commentary for the Czech newspaper Hospodarske Noviny Spanel noted that his company will probably look for strategic partners in the future. “But now we are an independent studio,— said the CEO of Bohemia Interactive. “We don’t know where the information [about the deal] came from.”
