A mobile company with Russian roots, Azur Games, has announced a new deal. She became an investor in the Israeli KobGames Studios, specializing in hyper-casual games.

The size and terms of the transaction were not disclosed. However, it is known that the full cost of the studio is $ 3.6 million.

Azur Games co-founder Dmitry Yaminsky also indicated that his company plans a long-term cooperation with KobGames Studios.

“At Azur Games, we are trying not just to publish games, but also to actively develop external studios, providing them with tools for growth and counting on long-term and productive cooperation. We are actively looking for talented studios to invest in, which will give them an additional boost for growth and accumulation of their own expertise,” Yaminsky said.

It should be noted that Azur Games invests not only in game studios. Last month, it announced the purchase of a 15% stake in Neosus, a broad—based mobile developer from Lithuania. This transaction cost the company $2.2 million.

KobGames Studios appeared on the market in 2018. There are about 50 mobile games in her portfolio, of which Cookie Carver: Life Challenge has achieved the greatest popularity. The project is based on the Korean TV series “The Squid Game”. The game was released this October and at the moment has collected a total of 20 million downloads (according to the analytical service AppMagic). Cookie Carver: Life Challenge also got into the top 10 most downloaded games in the American Google Play.

As for Azur Games itself, we recall that it is a gaming company with its head office in Larnaca, Cyprus. She develops and publishes both midcore and hyper-casual mobile games. Azur Games has projects such as Worms Zone, Stack Ball and Bottle Jump on its account. The total number of downloads of the company’s games is more than 2 billion.
