YouTube Gaming is launching today, August 26. It will offer gamers themed videos and the possibility of broadcasts.
The service will be accessed first by gamers in the USA and the UK, and then by users in other regions.
YouTube Gaming users will be able to broadcast the passage of games in real time, as well as subscribe to user and thematic channels. Game broadcasts can be paused or recorded.
The service will be available from both PC and mobile devices. It is expected that as soon as YouTube Gaming launches, applications of the same name will appear in the stores.
YouTube Gaming is designed to compete with the Twitch stream service for gamers. It was acquired by Amazon last summer. The Twitch audience is more than 100 million users.
