At the end of last week, Sergey Burkatovsky, vice president and creative director of Wargaming, publicly supported the so-called military operation in Ukraine. Soon after, it became known about his dismissal from the company.

According to the Rykoszet portal, on Friday, February 25, Burkatovsky wrote the following on his Facebook page:

“I support the operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the DPR and the LPR. The rest is nuances.”

The post was later deleted, and Wargaming stated that it did not share Burkatovsky’s point of view. The company did not officially specify whether the dismissal of the top manager was connected with his statement, but most likely it was the reason for the quarrel.

“Sergey Burkatovsky is no longer an employee of Wargaming. His personal opinion in no way reflects the position of the company. Wargaming is making every effort to help 550+ employees and their families in Ukraine,” Wargaming wrote in the comments to one of its Facebook posts after being asked about Burkatovsky.

Burkatovsky himself confirmed that he left Wargaming, but he also did not share his reasons for leaving.

Editorial Office App2Top.ru contacted Wargaming. Representatives of the company confirmed the dismissal, but dispensed with details. Like Burkatovsky himself, they declared that “their paths diverged.”

Wargaming was founded in 1998. She is known primarily for military-themed MMO games — World of Tanks and World of Warships. The company is registered in Cyprus, but its offices are also located in Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, the USA and a number of other countries.
