We haven’t heard much about autobuttlers lately. But they are still played by millions. For example, MAU in Teamfight Tactics from Riot Games has reached 33 million players.

Teamfight Tactics was released in June as a mode for League of Legends. And here are her current achievements:

  • The players spent a total of 1.725 billion hours in Teamfight Tactics. Of these, 720 million hours are only for the last month;
  • Chinese users (and most of them in LoL) now spend 35% more time in the game than before;
  • thanks to the mode, the number of simultaneous players in LoL has increased by 30%;
  • the peak DAU of the entire game has grown to 8 million, writes VentureBeat.

Eventually, the new mode was so warmly received by the audience that Riot Games plans to turn it into a separate esports discipline.

“Over the years, we have released many game modes, and Teamfight Tactics became the first after ARAM to be awarded the title of permanent League of Legends mode,” Riot said in an official statement. “We have big plans (for the regime), and we are already working to keep players interested in it for many years to come.”

Note that Newzoo was called Teamfight Tactics is the most popular autobattler on the market. They also noted the importance of the Chinese region for the genre as a whole.
