The next version of Unreal Engine has arrived — 4.23. It includes an improved set of visualization tools and an advanced physics system.
Epic Games has been working on this version for five months. Here is a part of the innovations:
- tools for the production of multimedia content. This includes new features for VR projects, and improved Live Link streaming;
- Support for HoloLens 2 AR glasses;
- new functions for remote work with the engine;
- improved data exchange performance plus upgraded Datasmith converter;
- advanced system of physics and destruction of virtual objects (both linear and real-time);
- a number of new features in Niagara for creating visual effects;
- enhanced rendering support on multiple displays;
- support for media files in HAP format.
Epics also worked on Unreal Editor. HDRI Backdoor Actor has been added to it to create realistic backgrounds and lighting and other features.
