The Unsung Heroes initiative was launched by the international publishing group Spil Games. Novice developers will be helped in promoting their games.
There are a lot of good mobile games – so many that most of them remain out of sight of users. Spil Games promises to “give them a second chance” and make them visible to users.
For this purpose, the company will select the games it likes and promote them and the history of their creation on its website. An online gaming magazine will join the initiative Pocketgamer.co.uk . Its authors will write about the selected games and their authors.
The authors of Unsung Heroes call it a “publishing initiative”, not a competition. However, she will have a winner. So far, the criteria by which the game will be considered a winner have not been named. However, the company claims that even participation in the initiative guarantees visibility to projects, since the audience of Spil Games is more than 130 million MAU.
The winning game will get the opportunity to be officially published with the help of Spil Games. The company will conclude a contract with its authors worth $ 50,000 – that is, it will help her with localization, monetization and advertising.
The promotion of games is not the only goal of the company. Spil Games is going to look for new ways to convey information about titles to players. It will “open a dialogue on how to get mobile players to expand their horizons.”
While the company is at the stage of project selection.
In order to participate in the initiative, you need to send a link to an existing game in the mobile store and a short text about the history of its creation and promotion. Representatives of the company emphasize that they will give preference to “a short, funny, lively and enthusiastic story.”
