Mobile The Sims: Freeplay is banned from distribution in China, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and Egypt. Electronic Arts does not name a specific reason, but fans are sure that this is due to the opportunity to play LGBT characters.
Support for the game in these countries ceased on June 5. Those players who have already downloaded it can continue to play, but their version of the application will not receive any updates.
The community manager of the game accompanied the announcement of the ban addressed to the players with the following comment:
