Capcom threw 2,800 people to create a remake of Resident Evil. This became known during the broadcast of the Japanese broadcasting company NHK, writes Alex Aniel, author of a book about the franchise.
The future Resident Evil 2 Remake within the series became the record holder for the number of employees involved in the project. Resident Evil 6 was created by 600 developers. For comparison, both games bypassed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, created by the efforts of 500 people.
Capcom is developing Resident Evil 2 from scratch. The company wants the game to meet modern standards. The remake announced three big story campaigns that will expand the original story.
The game will be released on January 25, 2019 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
