Creative England studio and Crowdfunder website are launching a contest called “Queen of Code”. The goal is to help female developers realize themselves in the gaming industry.
The scheme is as follows: the first three successful crowdfunding campaigns on the Crowdfunder website will receive an additional £5,000.
The condition of participation is that a woman should be at the head of the project. Thus, the authors of the initiative hope to increase the number of women in the game industry.
At the moment, only 12% of English developers are women, despite the fact that there are 49% of them among the players, that is, almost half.
