Mobile Content Forum estimated the Japanese mobile content market at $8.8 billion last year, of which $5.1 billion was for games for mobile devices. 

Of these, Japanese users spent $2.7 billion on smartphone projects. Mobile phone owners are responsible for the remaining $2.4 billion.

Compared to 2011, the Japanese began spending 5.4 times more on gaming applications “for smartphones” in 2012.

The turnover of the entire mobile market in Japan reached an impressive $24.4 billion, which is 23% more than in 2011.
