The scandal between indie developers and the G2A store – the second in two years — led to the creation of a petition against the trading platform. Its author, the head of No More Robots Mike Rose (Mike Rose) demands that G2A no longer trade keys from indie games.

We reported earlier about the claims of Rose and several other indie developers to G2A. According to igrodelov, other stores sell G2A keys from unsold bundles. He sells them at discounted prices. From such deals, game creators do not receive income, and players, according to Rose, get out of the habit of buying games at full prices.

In the petition on Change.org Rose writes that G2A should stop selling keys for indie games and stop “harming indie developers over and over again.” To date, it has been signed by over 1,200 people.

In a recent G2A statement to Gamesindustry.biz claims that out of about a million games sold through the site monthly, only 8% are from indie developers. Rose mentions it in the petition: “We expect that G2A will probably give up 8% of sales, thereby making 99% of developers happier. Thanks to this, G2A will prove that it really cares about the industry.”

It should be noted that G2A does not admit the charges. Although indie developers claim that the store does not contact them, he himself promises to compensate them for losses tenfold. But only if they prove that the store is really to blame for these losses.

Recall that the store again attracted the attention of igrodelov by paying for advertising space in the Google search engine. Now links to G2A drop out first when trying to find a particular game. The head of No More Robots himself claims that this is the case with the search for the Descenders title. He also blames G2A for the decline in revenue from the game, but the marketplace itself denies this.
