The authors of Master of Orion, the Latin American team of NGD Studios, have acquired Red Katana. Two studios are merging into one to become the largest game development company in Latin America.
The CEO of NGD Studios will be replaced by Martin Cao, who previously held the same position in Red Katana. Before the merger, the position of head of the company belonged to Andres Chilkowski. Now Chilkowski will move to the place of creative director of the studio.
In an interview with the resource Gamesindusty.biz Chilkowski commented on the event: “Martin has a huge experience in management, and I have always focused more on the technical and creative side of creating games.”
In August, NGD Studios launched Master of Orion as part of Wargaming’s WG Labs publishing initiative.
