The Chinese studio miHoYo has announced its ambitions in the field of metaverses. The authors of Genshin Impact presented the HoYoverse brand. Its mission is to produce more content and create a single virtual world that will unite the company’s products.The company announced the launch of HoYoverse on February 14 on the official website.
At the same time, in a press release, miHoYo avoids the term “metaverse”, describing the new brand simply as “an exciting virtual world”.
Now the main project of the company is the online RPG Genshin Impact, whose revenue on iOS and Android has surpassed the $3 billion mark. However, miHoYo has other products, including Honkai Impact 3rd games, Tears of Themis, as well as anime, manga, music, ranobe, N0va app (live wallpaper) and virtual actress Lumi.
All these brands will now become part of a single HoYoverse universe. How exactly this project will work is still unknown. So far, we are talking more about rebranding and positioning ourselves not only as game authors, but also owners of many IP addresses. The company has already changed the email addresses of its brands to @hoyoverse.com .

According to him, the studio will continue to develop in the fields of artificial intelligence, cloud computing and other areas. This will help miHoYo in the long term to create a sufficient amount of content that “meets the expectations of players around the world regarding the virtual world.”
As part of HoYoverse, the company will start producing more products and investing in technical research. This brand will be handled by specialists from Montreal, Los Angeles, Singapore, Tokyo and Seoul.
