Square Enix announced the launch of a new application. It will be called Dive In and will be released on iOS and Androd. The application will give users the opportunity to play certain titles in the “cloud”.
Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy XIII and The Cherry Blossom Murders will be available immediately after the launch of the application, and users will be able to play Final Fantasy VIII and The Last Remnant in November. Other parts of the franchise,- Final Fantasy XIII-2, Murdered: Soul Suspect, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will appear on Dive In shortly before the New Year.
About the price: the games will be “rented out”, that is, the player will pay for the time he spent in the game. For example, for renting Final Fantasy XIII for three days, the user will pay 250 yen (about $ 2.50). Ten days will cost 510 yen, and a year – 1800 (about $ 17). For those who like to devote weekends to their favorite games at the expense of social life, Square Enix will offer a substantial discount.
However, so far all this concerns only Japanese users: we are not talking about a release in other countries.
The app will be released on iOS and Android in October 2014.
