Shanghai studio Lilith Games accuses the creators of Heroes Charge, uCool studio, of violating intellectual rights.
Lilith Games claims that the title Heroes Charge is copied from her game Soul Clash. Indirectly, the studio’s accusations are confirmed by the fact that Soul Clash appeared in February 2014, and Heroes Charge – only in August of the same year.
Where is the game, can you understand? Screenshots are taken from here www.gamesindustry.biz
Lilith Games also presented evidence of theft today.
The fact is that Chinese developers have integrated a special code into the game. When tapping in a certain area of the screen, a window appears confirming the rights of Lilith Games. So, when tapping in the same area in Heroes Charge, the same window appears. In other words, the American uCool literally took the source code of another game. Videos demonstrating this can be viewed here.
It is known that the case will be considered By the Northern District Court of California.
The management of the Chinese studio notes that they were forced to file a lawsuit by the success of Heroes Charge in the Western market. According to them, they plan to promote their own game in Europe under the Allstar Heroes brand. Competition from Heroes Charge can seriously interfere with this.
Recall that the Heroes Charge commercial was shown during the American Super Bowl, where a 30-second promotional video can cost up to $ 4.5 million.
