The Skolkovo Foundation proposes to exempt Russian developers from paying VAT for equipping the workplaces of programmers writing software for export.

The relevant bill has already been sent for approval with the Ministries of Economy and Communications, Vedomosti writes.

The benefit will apply both to companies that develop software for foreign customers, and those that directly sell software to foreign Internet users.

According to Skolkovo, the Russian budget will not count 22 billion rubles from this measure. But the benefit will increase the tax base – it will allow domestic companies to hire more employees. Therefore, very soon tax revenues from Russian IT firms will exceed budget losses several times.
