Not everything is in order in the Finnish kingdom. The revenues and profits of the authors of Angry Birds at the end of last year were significantly lower than the results of the disastrous 2013 for the company.
In just 12 months of 2014, the company earned €158.3 million. This is 9% less than a year earlier. The company’s profit, in turn, amounted to €10 million. Recall that at the end of 2013, it totaled € 36.5 million.
The main reason for the fall is a decrease in interest in merchandising. The revenues of the gaming and media divisions of the Finnish company, on the contrary, increased last year
– by 16% and 19%, respectively.
In 2014, Rovio managed to release 6 projects. The total downloads of all titles for the reporting period amounted to 600 million (!).
The company has a positive outlook on the future. In 2015 alone, the company managed to launch four projects (two in the world, two locally), which were generally accepted positively. In 2016, in turn, a film will be released in the Angry Birds universe.
