An AAA title for virtual reality helmets will appear in the Rockstar portfolio. Perhaps the company was inspired by the success of the VR reissue of L.A. Noire, as well as the fame of Half-Life: Alyx.
L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files
Australian Video Games Deluxe will develop a new large-scale VR game with an open world.
A post about this appeared on her LinkedIn profile. Rockstar ordered this project, as it once ordered L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files are from the same studio.
Nothing is known about the future game. Its name, genre and approximate release date are not disclosed. It is impossible to say even that it will be a completely new title. Video Game Deluxe can re-release one of the existing Rockstar projects in the VR environment, for example, GTA 5.
Video Game Deluxe has been working only with Rockstar for the last seven years. The Sydney-based developer team consists of 10 people (now it is looking for three more employees, including a senior animator, a game designer and a specialist in gameplay mechanics).
This team released L.A. Noire in 2017: The VR Case Files for HTC Vive, and later moved it to PlayStation VR. The content of the game in the version for virtual reality helmets has been significantly reduced compared to the original. In fact, a set of selected detective cases from L.A. Noire, redesigned for VR headsets, was made from a full-fledged game.
Recall that this spring the main event for VR users was the release of Half-Life: Alyx. Analysts predicted that this title would push the development of VR games.
