About half of European developers plan to release games for mobile. This is reported in a study conducted by representatives of the European branch of the GDC.
Respondents – European game developers – were asked to tell about their plans for the near future. It turned out that 50% are preparing projects for mobile. For comparison, last year only 40% of respondents planned to release games for mobile OS.
PC games will be released by 62% of 250 respondents. For PS4 and Xbox One – 43%.
Android has become the most popular mobile operating system. She is preferred by 63% of respondents. iOS is in second place (57%). Last year, the advantage was in favor of iOS: 67% of respondents prepared projects for Apple, 62% for Android.
GDC or the Conference of Game Developers interviewed 250 specialists from different fields of the industry for their research. They are united by geography – they live and work in Europe. Of the respondents, 29% are Germans, 16% are British, 12% are residents of the Netherlands, 10% are Swedes, 6% are Finns. A small percentage of respondents live in Poland, Russia and Norway.
