Representatives of the Russian gaming industry have published an open letter calling for “stopping [Roskomnadzor] with Ukraine.” It has already been signed by over 900 people.
Nikita Ivanov, the content manager, organized the collection of signatures.
At the time of publication of the news, an open letter was signed by 903 people. Among them are employees of Epic Games, CD Projekt Red, Scopely, Saber Interactive, Remedy, G5 Games, MY.GAMES, Playrix, Nexters, Wargaming, Pixonic, tinyBuild, Playtika, Herocraft, Donut Lab, 1C Entertainment, Belka Games, Crazy Panda, Azur Games, Playkot and many other gaming companies.
Below is part of the letter.
“We are video game developers and employees of the gaming industry. We are all citizens of the multinational Russian Federation. We create worlds, tell stories, create an opportunity for people to spend their leisure time brightly and interestingly. Sometimes we make games about [Roskomnadzor], but we are against [Roskomnadzor] coming out of monitors and televisions into the real world.
With this open letter we declare: WE ARE AGAINST [Roskomnadzor].
We call on the Russian authorities to stop the fighting on the territory of the sovereign Ukrainian state, return to the zone of their jurisdiction and initiate negotiations on a peaceful settlement.”
To date, similar appeals have been written by representatives of some other Russian spheres. They published their letters:
- IT specialists — 20.4 thousand signatures;
- workers of culture and art — 6,7 thousand signatures;
- doctors — 6.1 thousand signatures;
- scientists — 4.7 thousand signatures;
- teachers — 3.6 thousand signatures;
- NGO representatives — 536 signatures;
- comedians — 322 signatures;
- municipal deputies — 264 signatures.
There is also a general petition on Change.org , which is currently supported by 978,443 people.
