Released in August, Pokémon Masters became a box office hit. Her income for the first month was $33.3 million. Nevertheless, players massively criticize its game design. The producer of the project personally had to apologize for this.
Since the release of the game, DeNA developer has received a lot of complaints from users. The shortcomings of the combat system (including an imbalance), an inconvenient interface and a lack of content were the most criticized.
Yesterday, producer Yu Sasaki apologized in a corporate blog and promised to improve the game.
“We are disappointed that we did not meet the expectations of the community,” he wrote. — We intend to make sure that this does not happen again. The opinions of the Coaches (players) have only strengthened our desire to create a game that we can be proud of.”
Exactly what improvements are planned, Sasaki did not say. But, according to Kotaku, now the expanded Pokémon Masters team is working on the release of new story events and polishing the reward system.
Judging by user reviews, DeNA should work on more than just that. Although the players are looking forward to the plot events: now the storyline in Pokémon Masters ends literally in mid-sentence.
Among other claims:
- there is not enough endgame content in the game;
- the cooperative rewards poorly;
- the characters are not balanced: a small group of units is stronger than all the others. Therefore, most of the teams of the players look the same.
Pokémon Masters is second in revenue for the first month only to Pokémon GO (within the franchise)
Pokémon Masters is an RPG for mobile platforms where players fight with famous Pokemon trainers.
According to Sensor Tower, in a month its downloads in the App Store and Google Play reached 12 million.
