Unknown Worlds studio has sold more than 5 million copies of Subnautica. This is without taking into account free downloads from the Epic Games Store.
The exact number of copies of survival sold in two years is 5.23 million on all platforms (Steam, Epic Games Store, PS4 and Xbox One). This was announced by the founder of the studio Charlie Cleveland (Charlie Cleveland), writes Gamesindustry.biz .
In March last year, Subnautica was distributed in the Epic Games Store for free. The action lasted two weeks. During this time, according to the store, 4.5 million people downloaded the game. Thus, the total number of title owners has now almost reached 10 million.
Subnautica is an indie project, fully launched in January 2018. The game was in early access in December 2014. Initially, Unknown Worlds planned to make a small casual game. But later its scale grew thanks to feedback from players.
