Introversion studio sold an IP to a Swedish publisher, which helped it avoid bankruptcy.

Paradox Interactive has acquired the rights to Prison Architect, a high—security prison simulator. It is not known how much Introversion has benefited from the sale of its popular IP: the amount of the transaction is not mentioned in the official press release.

Previously, Paradox published only a mobile version of Prison Architect. Now she has received the rights to all versions of the game (on existing and future platforms).

As is the case with other simulators, such as Cities: Skylines and Surviving Mars, the large Prison Architect community will like the path we have chosen for the development of the game. We are eager to find out what other projects can be developed based on IP Prison Architect.

Introversion Successes

Prison Architect was released in 2012 and was already successful enough in early access that the developer studio (at that time consisting of two people) solved its financial problems. Even before the official release in 2015, the game earned $19 million. To date, more than 2 million copies of the game have been sold on PC and consoles.

Since the release of this game, the company has not had other equally large titles. In recent years, she has been engaged in VR experiments, such as Scanner Sombre.

Recent Paradox Acquisitions

Recently, Paradox Interactive has made many major acquisitions. Since 2017, she has become the owner of Triumph Studios, Harebrained Schemes, White Wolf Publishing, and also bought a 33 percent stake in Hardsuite Labs. In the case of Introversion, the publisher limited itself to buying a gaming IP.
