The beta version of H1Z1, an online shooter in the world of the zombie apocalypse from Daybreak Games, attracted an audience of one and a half million players in the first 24 hours since the launch of the PS4 version.

The release of H1Z1 for Windows took place in February, and on May 22, Daybreak Games unveiled a beta version of the game for Playstation 4 – H1Z1: Battle Royale. Moreover, this is not a copy of the desktop version — the game not only received a redesign, but also replenished with a large arsenal of weapons, the AI of enemies was also completely redesigned. The control system has been successfully adapted to the consoles — the choice of weapons now takes place through a circular menu, and it has become convenient to collect loot on the go.

In the first 24 hours after the launch of the open beta, 1.5 million PS4 users played it.

We believe we have found the right balance for the console version of the Battle royale game, and players have reacted positively to the H1Z1 update. We will continue to refine the game in accordance with the feedback from the open beta testing to make sure that our ever-growing community will get the best gaming experience.

At the same time, the H1Z1 version for Windows after the release was criticized just for the lack of support from the publisher and the lack of a fight against cheaters, as a result, the audience of players sharply decreased — from a peak of 150 thousand to 9 thousand.
