NPD Group analysts estimated the revenues of the American gaming market for the past February. Revenue from games in the country is growing again, despite a noticeable drop in January. But the turnover of the console segment continues to decline.

AnthemGeneral market figures

  • Total turnover — $1.047 billion (increased by 4%).
  • Video game sales — $457 million (increased by 15%).
  • Sales of iron — $277 million (fell by 12%).
  • Accessory sales — $313 million (increased by 6%).

As already mentioned, in January, software sales fell by almost 20%. In February, the fall turned into growth, according to ResetEra.

BioWare’s Anthem became the bestseller of February in the USA. It is significant that the game was released at the end of the month — February 22. Neither this nor the cool reception of critics and players prevented it from becoming the second best—selling game of this year – and the second in terms of sales in the release month among all BioWare games (Mass Effect 3 remains the first).

At the same time, Metro Exodus, launched in mid-February, failed to enter even the top five bestsellers.
