Nintendo has announced the re-release of the Game & Watch console

The Game & Watch series of portable consoles first appeared on the shelves back in 1980. After 40 years, Nintendo decided to launch sales of a new edition of the famous console, tells The Verge. As reported, the replica will be available to buy from November 13 at a price of $ 49.99.

The design of the new console is based on the original device. But unlike the old Game & Watch, the replica acquired a color screen and three games inside at once (in the 1980s, the console was often released with only one game). However, as before, the remake of Game & Watch will support the clock function, for which this time the authors added 35 screensavers with “Easter eggs” to Super Mario Bros.

All available games are associated with the hero of the day – Super Mario Bros. You can play both this particular game and Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels, and Game & Watch — Ball. In the original of the last game, the main character is Mr. Game & Watch, but in the reissue, Mario will take his place.

This is not the first retro Nintendo console. Three years ago, the Japanese released a replica of the SNES Classic Mini, and a year before that – the NES Classic Mini.
