MicroProse publisher, which released the first two parts of Civilization, announced a strategic partnership with the owners of the Russian engine UNIGINE. It is on this engine that the company’s new titles will be developed.
According to MicroProse, with the help of UNIGINE technologies, developers want to achieve maximum performance for their games. Recall that recently the publisher has focused on the release of simulators and strategies with an open world.
UNIGINE is a Russian company founded in 2005. Its 3D engine of the same name is used for professional simulators, scientific research, virtual reality systems and game development. For example, Sumoman puzzle, Oil Rush strategy and Cradle quest were collected on it.
MicroProse is a developer and publisher with almost forty years of history, but for a long time the company was out of business. The publisher closed in the early noughties and returned to the market only last fall. Before its closure, it managed to release the first Sid Meier’s Civilization, the original X-COM, the Master of Orion series and many other classic games. In 2020, MicroProse also announced three projects at once.
