Half a million copies of the game Mordhau sold out in just a week after the release. This was announced by the developer studio Triternion on the official forum of the game.
The launch of Mordhau, according to the developers, was not ideal. “Server performance was terrible,” they admit, “we are still setting up new servers in those regions that need it, so the team selection system may not work well.” There were critical errors, and problems with the system of gaining experience and in-game currency. Some of the players on the forum call the game not ready for release.
But, despite this, on May 5, 60 thousand users were in the game at the same time. This is the peak online for the Mordhau release week, Gamasutra writes. Now the game is in the first place in the top “Sales leaders around the world” on Steam.
None of us expected such a reception even in our wildest dreams.
Mordhau is a multiplayer slasher in a medieval setting. Funds for it were collected on Kickstarter in 2017. 4.3 thousand backers invested in Mordhau, the amount of donations reached $ 300 thousand.
