Revenue of LINE Corporation, the owner of the messenger of the same name, decreased by 1% compared to the previous quarter. This became known from the financial report of the Japanese company.
Despite the fact that quarterly figures decreased slightly, LINE Corporation’s revenue increased by 37% compared to the same period last year and amounted to $224 million. The total MAU of the messenger worldwide was 211 million.
The main profit of the corporation is brought by the LINE messenger. Most of its user base is located in Japan, Taiwan and Thailand. According to experts of the Techcrunch resource, the decline in quarterly revenues is explained by an unsuccessful attempt to enter other Asian markets.
We should add that over the past six months, the corporation has been forced to close a number of projects on its own gaming platform. We assume that a slight drop in profitability can be explained, among other things, by this.
