Virtual reality glasses from MergeVR startup are preparing to compete with Oculus and Samsung headsets. The device will cost about $129 and will be on sale this fall.

The MergeVR kit will include glasses and a wireless controller. It is not only cheaper than the Samsung analog (it costs $199.99), but it will also, unlike competitor devices, be compatible with both Android and iOS.

The case of the glasses will be made of soft porous material. That is, smartphones of various sizes can be placed in it.

The startup will launch the Launch Partners Program to help developers create games and “experiences” for virtual reality devices. MergeVR representatives claim that they have already contacted leading mobile gaming companies for this.
