Hideo Kojima is sure that CDs will disappear soon. He believes that in the future, games, movies, music and books will completely switch to digital format. That’s just according to the game designer, it carries certain risks. For example, due to unforeseen circumstances, gamers may one day lose access to digital collections.
Kojima shared such thoughts on Twitter. He said that he regularly buys CDs himself, despite the fact that he already has a lot of them. Among the recent purchases was, for example, a box set by the German band Tangerine Dream.
Eventually, even digital data will no longer belong to users. Whenever serious changes occur in the world, in a country, in a government, in ideas or trends, or unforeseen circumstances develop, we may suddenly lose access. We will not be able to freely open our favorite movies, books and music. I'm going to lose everything, that's what I'm afraid of. It's not greed.
