San Francisco-based startup Kamcord has already raised over $1.5 million to develop an SDK that allows users to record and upload videos of their gaming exploits.
The company recently announced that thanks to the generosity of Tencent and InnovationWorks, its capital has increased by another million dollars.
Recent financial injections have allowed Kamcord to think about new horizons. According to Matt Zitzmann, CEO of the company, his team is going to release an SDK with the functions of social networks – creating personal pages, commenting, etc. The developers intend to turn Kamcord.com to a place where mobile gaming content is concentrated.
Of course, the success of this idea strongly depends on the willingness of developers to embed the possibility of recording in their projects. While Kamcord has no problems on this front, the company already serves more than 115 games, and the number of recorded gaming sessions has reached an impressive billion mark. And, apparently, the release of the Android-oriented SDK promised by Zitzmann will allow Kamcord to significantly increase its performance.
